Several events may harm plants, like unfavourable change of soil quality, appearing pests, fungal, bacterial
or viral infections, natural phenomenas. It is possible to actively defend against many of these
by applying frost protection, pesticides, feromon spraying.
Remote traps provide an opportunity to continously monitor insects. By measuring microclimatic changes and applying plant protection algorythms, infection risk can be determined and a scheduled intervention can prevent the disaster.
AgroSense measures just right next to the plants, based on these data models can produces more accurate pest forcasts. Plant and crop damage can be prevented, if we know the state of the plant and the soil.
Data gathered by the AgroSense Nodes are received by the base station via a wireless network. It can use its own integrated sensors or receive external sensors. Their data, along with the data from the nodes, are transmitted via a GPRS module to the AgroSense server. Power is supplied by a solar panel and a battery.

The received data is sent by a secure connection over GPRS to the server, where data is accessible by using a simple web browser. Alerts are also configured here. Supporting on-site data access, the web application fits to mobile devices as well.
The Base station collects and transfers data from 64 Nodes, which can be placed around the Base up to 900m range. The thus formed system provides great solution for open field or greenhouse growing, environmental data, irrigation and nutrient monitoring across the farm.
The AgroSense Node reads the connected external sensors, and transfers the collected data to the AgroSense Base via a wireless radio link. An AgroSense Base is capable of handling up to 64 Nodes, which may be placed around the Base within the range of 900m. Thus the AgroSense Base (which focuses on meteorological measurements) is expanded by microclimatic or plant-health oriented measurements done in immediate vicinity of the plants. These are like soil moisture, EC, leaf wetness, NDVI. Measurement points may be determined by terrain, soil type, or the irrigation zones.
It measures there and what you need. The locations and numbers of measuring points can be choosen by the spatial differencies, or by the irrigation circles, or by the different crops. We use precise and reliable sensors.
Your system can be expand with new Nodes. The Node is easy to deploy or relocate for example when you need to detect frost or change crops. Besides its air temp/hum and soil temp sensor the Node can handle 4 additional sensors.
The AgroSense Node comes with its own AA sized industrial battery and powers the Node for even 18 months without any service.
Its weatherproof (UV and waterproof) enclosure ensures long lifetime. The mounting and the antenna is flexible thus it wont get stuck on spreyer's frame.
The AgroSense server takes care of the incoming data using latest cloud technologies. Data with proper access rights can be viewed by a simple web browser, thus can we have the proper up-to-date information from the fields and schedule the needed intervention. Data display and management is all web based and accessible from mobile devices. The system provides user customizable alerts, when a value exceeds the threshold, the system can send notification via SMS or e-mail.
The status of the field can be monitored continously by meteorological data measurements, thus local speciality can be observed.
Multiple measurements on the field make possible to recognize the risk of frost or overheating of plants, and give essential information on nutrient management.
Traps every day count the insects were cought, using this information swarming and hatching of eggs can be predicted.
